Window tinting for the Utah sun
Cut the heat and the UV at the glass, before either reaches you or your interior.
Factory-subtle from the outside, working glass from the inside.
Window tint, fitted in the bay, not a parking lot
Tint is the one service we offer that protects you as much as the car. Roughly half the sun’s energy arrives as infrared heat and a sliver arrives as ultraviolet, and that sliver does most of the damage: to your dash, your seats and your skin, every time the car sits out.
Good film intercepts it at the glass. Quality window films block up to 99 percent of UV, which is why dermatology organizations recognize film as skin protection, and it is the cheapest way to slow interior aging you can buy. A faded dash top, hardened leather and grayed trim are not reversible past a point.
Every car is tinted at the Bluffdale shop, because film needs a still, clean environment to go on without trapping dust or lint under it. The whole car starts at $349; the exact price depends on the car, the number of windows and the film. Call to book: tint is not on the online booking system.
The Benefits of Window Tint
Heat rejection
A quality film cuts a meaningful share of the infrared coming through the glass, which is what actually makes a parked car unbearable.
UV protection
The same film blocks the ultraviolet that fades your dash, hardens leather and reaches your skin on a long drive.
Glare reduction
Low winter sun across Utah Valley is genuinely dangerous. Tint takes the edge off it without giving up what you need to see at night.
Clean fitment
Fitted in a controlled bay. Dust or lint trapped under film is permanent and visible in every subsequent sunrise.
The right shade for the job
Looks, heat and visibility pull in different directions, and every car and driver weighs them differently. We talk through where you land before anything goes on.
Window Tint: Heat, UV and Glare, Explained
Good film intercepts the sun at the glass before it reaches you or the interior. The tabs below walk through what that means in practice, honest limits included.
Heat, cut at the glass
- The heat that builds in a parked car comes through the glass as infrared, and the glass itself does little to stop it.
- Ceramic film rejects infrared at the glass, so a meaningful share of that heat never enters the cabin at all.
- Rejection and absorption are different jobs: dyed film soaks heat into the glass, ceramic film turns it away. The comparison table below walks through the four generations of film.
- The honest limit: film cuts the heat load, it does not eliminate it. A car left in the summer sun still warms up, just meaningfully less.
Not all tint is tint
The word covers four generations of film that behave nothing alike. The dark look is the cheapest part.
| Criteria | Dyed | Metalized | Carbon | Ceramic |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| How it works | Pigment absorbs heat into the glass | Metal particles reflect it away | Carbon particles absorb and hold color | Ceramic nanoparticles reject infrared |
| Heat rejection | Modest, and it fades | Good | Good | The top of the class |
| Your electronics | No interference | Can degrade GPS and phone signal | No interference | No interference |
| Aging | The classic purple fade | Slow | Color-stable | Engineered to hold color |
| The look | Flat, dark | Slightly mirrored | Matte, dark | Factory-subtle at any shade |
| Cost logic | Cheapest, twice | The middle | The sensible floor | Costs more, once |
Shade and performance are separate decisions: a nearly clear ceramic film can reject more heat than a dark dyed one. Pick the look you want and the physics you want, not one pretending to be the other.

I had no problem paying what he was asking because it was totall Worth every penny. He will be the ONLY Detailer that I will deal with from now on. Honestly, I was blown away by Trey's Detailing. The effort and attention to detail working on my car was incredible. They stayed well past their scheduled commitment to make sure the thing really shined, and from the bottle of cleaner tucked into a carefully folded microfiber towel left in the car to help us keep it clean to the perfect shine of my car's exterior, these are people who genuinely love making your car as beautiful and spotless as they can. If you need detailing in northern Utah County, Trey's gets my highest recommendation.

Justin came to our home and did a full detail on our 2022 CRV. The car looks like new! Inside and outside were cleaned thoroughly. One thing I appreciated was constant communication with periodic updates. I could relax in my home and be about my day while he worked. I highly recommend this service!

Amazing service, they’re extremely friendly and helpful. With some flexible payment plans it made giving my car the love it needs 1000 times easier. When I got my car back, it looked 100 times better than when it rolled off of the wall. I’ll recommend anyone who listens!

Trey was communicative every step of the way and transparent with regards to the cost of the full detailing. Justin arrived on time (early actually!) and was both courteous and professional. My Infiniti looks brand new, inside and out, which is HUGE considering the abuse it had survived with a toddler! HIGHLY recommend— and will be using again.

I had such a great experience with Trey! He was super flexible in working around my busy schedule, and love how he comes to your home, which I really appreciated. There was some stubborn stains on my windows and he suggested I bring it to his shop the next day. The night after my detail it unfortunately rained, and without hesitation Trey offered to do a quick touch up for me in addition to polishing the stains on the windows. He’s also very knowledgeable and even took the time to teach me how to keep the detail maintained. His professionalism, quality of work and customer service really stand out. Highly recommend! 🤍✨

Trey has been great to work with. He comes by about once a month to detail my cars. He’s really good at following up and is super on top of the schedule. He also does a great job of detailing the cars. Super convenient as he just comes to my house and does it in my driveway. I’d highly recommend he also did a great job with getting some scratches out and ceramic coating

What pairs with tint
Tint handles the sun. These two handle the road.
Ceramic coating for the paint
- Tint protects the glass and the cabin; a ceramic coating does the same job for the paint.
- System X certified coatings bond to your clear coat, shielding paint from Utah sun, canyon grit and winter road salt for years.
- Coatings start at $799, quoted exact for your car and its paint.
Paint protection film for the road
- Ghost Film certified urethane on the panels that actually take hits: nose, mirrors, rockers. Stones chip the film, not the paint.
- Window film and paint film solve different problems: one manages the sun, the other absorbs impacts.
- Coverage starts at $1,250, quoted per car.
Common questions
How do I pick a shade?
Decide what you actually want first: privacy, heat, looks, or all three. They pull in different directions, and ceramic film changes the math because it rejects heat without needing to go dark. Tell us the priorities and we will land the shade together.
Will tint stop my interior fading?
It significantly slows it. UV is the main thing degrading a dash and seats while the car sits parked, and film blocks a large share of it.
How long before I can roll the windows down?
The film needs time to cure against the glass first. We will tell you how long for the film on your car and the weather that week.
Is tint mobile?
No. It is done at the Bluffdale shop, because it needs a still, clean environment to go on without contamination.
Keep the whole car as clean as the new glass
Fresh tint makes the rest of the car look honest. A maintenance plan keeps it that way: scheduled details that treat the film, the paint and the interior right, priced per visit.
Plans run from bi-weekly to quarterly, priced per visit, and the shorter the interval the less each visit costs, down to 60 percent off the one-time rate.
